About

A Better Path to Learning will officially launch on April 11, 2022, 57 years after President Lyndon Johnson signed The Elementary and Secondary Education Act into law. Although the 1965 ESEA attempted to correct public school equity by correcting achievement gaps between white students and students of color, after a half century these inequitable conditions continue to exist, mostly for brown, black, and poor learners.

A Better Path to Learning is a place where anyone who wants to think differently about our young people’s learning can come to read, study, and reflect. Daily commentary will be posted, along with a library of resources designed to support the daily posting. Eventually, there are plans for a space reserved for dialogue based on the daily commentary. Our traditional public education system is not working for so, so many kids. The traditional system is broken and cannot be fixed. A Better Path to Learning adds to an existing national conversation demanding a new system of learning for our young people.
